Nigeria emergency

In northern Nigeria, where famine is causing 1.8 million people to face starvation, Christians are being denied access to essential aid because of their faith. These believers have already been forced to flee their homes by Boko Haram extremists, but many are now being forcibly displaced once again as the government shuts down refugee camps across the region.

Open Doors is significantly stepping up its work through local churches to provide emergency relief to thousands of families to help them survive, with a special focus on widows, children and the elderly, who are often hit the hardest. But this work is only possible thanks to your gifts and prayers.

  • Every £37 could pay for a 50kg bag of beans.
  • Every £42 could pay for a 100kg bag of maize.
  • Every £99 could provide everything a family needs to survive for three months.
